TERMS & CONDITIONS of ticket purchase and participation in Mad About Science online workshops

All Mad About Science workshop tickets are issued subject to these terms and conditions of sale and participation in online workshops. By purchasing tickets and/or attending any Mad About Science online workshop(s) the purchaser and any participant agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

Adult Supervision & Safety

Adult supervision is strongly recommended to provide assistance when required and to ensure the safety of the participating child. Our online workshops require the use of common household items and chemicals such as baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice.  A list of required materials is provided prior to the workshop.  Some of the hands-on experiments in the workshop require the use of scissors, hair dryers, lamps and warm or hot tap water.  Some of our demonstrations include the use of matches and fire.  It is the responsibility of the booking holder to ensure the participating child has no alergies to the chemicals used in the workshops and that they use the equipment as instructed by the science educator leading the workshop.  Mad About Science takes no responsiblity and is not liable for any property damage or injuries associated with misuse use of equipment or for any other damage or injury or negative health effects that occurs during or after the workshops.

Our workshops have been developed by in-house scientists and educators and are subject to copyright.  Mad About Science material can not be copied, reproduced or used in other commercial programs in any way.

Online Child Safety

As this is a learning environment with child participants we require all attendees to activate their cameras during our online workshops. This helps Mad About Science and the other participants identify individuals who are attending the workshops, to promote a safe, nurturing and connected learning environment for everyone. It also helps with supervision of the children and to ensure equipment and instructions are being followed safely as instructed.

Promotions & Advertising

Mad About Science reserves the right to use images, sound and video recorded during our online workshops for publishing in promotional campaigns. These campaigns may be published as social media content, on our website or in printed material. Any children’s faces used will be obscured to avoid identification unless express permission is sought and granted.

Tickets & Minimum Booking Numbers

  • Minimum booking numbers apply for the event to proceed.
  • In the event that the session you booked has been cancelled, you will be notified 24hrs prior and have the option to move to another timeslot or request a refund.
  • 100% payment is required at the time of booking.
  • All events are priced in Australian dollars and include GST.

Cancellations by Mad About Science

Mad About Science reserves the right to cancel/alter scheduled dates for any Mad About Science workshops where minimum attendance numbers are not reached.

In the event of an event being cancelled, Mad About Science will notify registered attendees via email, prior to the workshop date to offer an alternative workshop at an alternative date or to refund in full the workshop fee. If your payment is received after maximum numbers are reached, Mad About Science will contact you and a full refund will be made.

Cancellations by Attendees

If you or your child are unable to participate in a booked workshop, a substitute participant may be sent as a replacement (subject to approval).

If you wish to cancel more than 7 working days before the start of the event we will refund the cost of the ticket minus 50%.

If you wish to cancel less than 7 working days before the start of the event, no ticket costs will be refunded.

If you wish to cancel after the workshop has started, no ticket costs will be refunded.

All cancellations or postponements must be notified in writing to Mad About Science.

Once tickets are purchased and the attendance allocated to the workshop, in advance Purchaser requests for cancellations or refunds of Tickets prior to the workshop will only be allowed in Mad About Science’s sole discretion in circumstances of demonstrated hardship or events beyond your reasonable control.

As online workshops require a minimum attendance and are scheduled on the basis of bookings, cancellations will not be allowed where the cancellation will result in participations being less than the minimum attendance requirements. Tickets may be transferred to friends or family members but may not be re-sold for profit.

Non-attendance

Non-attendance of any workshop due to illness, or for personal or professional reasons does not provide the right to refunds, or a transfer to another event.

Consumer Data Policy

Whenever we collect personal information from you we will do so in a lawful and fair way. We will also advise you how and where to contact us.  Mad About Science is committed to respect the privacy of its users.
